Getting to Heraklion, Crete, is the first step. From Iraklion Airport, there is frequent buss service (a ride of about 2 hours) and taxi service (a ride of about 1.5 hours) for the cost of about 80 euro. Also most International Car rental companies have offices at the Heraklion Airport.
Getting to Heraklion by Sea:
There is daily Ferry-Boat service from Piraeus to Heraklion with several companies. Normally all ferries depart from Piraeus in the early evening arriving in Heraklion in the early morning. There are all equipped with private cabins, bars and restaurants and several of them make the trip in about six hours.
There are taxis stands, and regular buss service from the Heraklion port to Myrtos.
